What is Co-Funding?

Co-funding with the ALMT allows individuals, other Trusts and Foundations, and Companies to contribute funds directly to individual, vetted and approved, project partnerships. With fifteen years of experience awarding grants and working in partnership with children’s organisations around the world, the ALMT is best placed to support you in your philanthropy.

BOSP’s vision is to provide a range of high-quality leisure and respite services to children and young people with learning or physical disabilities and their families. They support the Government’s inclusion agenda and strive to help families lead an active and ‘ordinary’ life. BOSP aims to offer children and young people with disabilities access to the same activities and opportunities as their peers, allowing them to develop independence, self-esteem, and social skills in a supportive environment.

BOSP is building a new sensory room to provide sensory calming or sensory stimulation sessions for early years children to ease their transition into pre-school. Early intervention is vital and this project allows BOSP to offer personalised sessions to support struggling children and their families as well as a chance to ‘try before you buy; introducing families to equipment and strategies that could make a huge positive difference to their lives. Families who would otherwise not have the opportunity to try such equipment are taught how to use it, maximising the benefit to their child/young person. The project also enables BOSP to continue to provide the ‘Schools Out’ programme throughout July 2021 for children and young people without a school place in order to maintain stability for them.

The children from ‘Schools Out’ receive personalised sensory support from September aiming to continue building resilience and ease the transition back to school. Counselling is provided for individual parents/carers, couples, siblings or grandparents, to help them manage their grief, their relationships, or perhaps a traumatic birth, and help them come to terms with their situation. BOSP asks for a £10 contribution towards each session (this places importance on the sessions and leads to reduced cancellations).
