Children in China are thriving in the CMC's education programme

The trust pledged £45,000 to the CMC to support education for children in China’s migrant communities. Children are only entitled to an education in the place of their birth in China and due rapid urbanisation where rural families are moving into cities for work, a generation of children are ‘being lost’ with no access to schooling.

This incredible project which works in migrant communities to provide education, vocational training and employment will be one of the first in China to be recognised as a non-governmental organisation.  Our two ALMT classrooms will house the after-schools programme for these 160 children aged 5-13.

To date the majority of the students finish their homework in the after schools programme and seventy of them reported that they learned new life and character skills.

In the After School Program, the children are taught values/ethics, self-esteem and personal development.  The teachers aim to weave these principles into all of the activities such as arts and craft or sports.
