Sabina Forbes donates one of her paintings

The ALMT is very fortunate to have been given one of Sabina's paintings. She was named the artist of the month in USA and had a near sell-out of her first exhibition in March.

Sabina writes:

"My abstracts reflect the struggle one faces to seek harmony despite the inner-chaos and stresses which life's routine often creates. The works explore the rhythms of line & color which at times can be very much in conflict. These juxtapositions aim to evoke the subconscious emotion elicited during the process of finding balance, as well as striving for the inner peace that at times can seem a remote & inaccessible truth.

The human form, and its relationship to the surrounding space, has been an important motif in many of my pieces. Rather than focus on the realism of the body, these paintings concentrate on the outline and shapes of its structure. They work to explore the textural qualities & physicality of the paint, and allow for the creation of vibrant patterns that reflect the activity, and at times the commotion, one can experience within. The fluid, sinuous lines of the body serve to contain the cacophony of color, allowing for the same emotional exploration experienced in my purely abstract work."
